Marist High School boasts 199 Chick Evans Scholars in its school history. The Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship provides full tuition and college housing for golf caddies, and is renewable for up to four years. To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, all applicants must have a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need, and outstanding character. Applicants are evaluated and compete on the above criteria for the limited number of awards given annually.
Caddies throughout mostly the Midwest can apply for the Chick Evans Scholarship from the Evans Scholars Foundation of the Wester Golf Association. In order to apply, they need a recommendation form the caddie master at their respective country club where they caddy. Applicants must also show a certain level of financial need, and they must have a strong academic record and distinct leadership qualities.
Applicants have an initial interview with the Chick Evans committee. From there only 280 caddies are chosen for the scholarship. Students give a list of four schools they would like to attend in order of preference and the committee makes the final determination on where they send the winners.
Congratulations! Best of luck in your future endeavors.
