Marist rising senior, Celia Lindokken, was awarded The Michael Sullivan Family Foundation “Senior Year Scholarship for Excellence in Mathematics” that includes full tuition and fees for her senior year!
Marist students were able to apply to this scholarship if they met the following award criteria:
- Have an unweighted GPA of 3.67 or higher.
- Be in the Junior class and be enrolled in an honors, AP, or other accelerated mathematics course.
- Have received grades of A or B in all high school mathematics courses.
After the applications were all submitted, Marist established a committee to review the applications and submitted three candidates for the Scholarship to the Foundation for review.
Preference was given to students with the following criteria:
- Intention of pursuing a degree/career in a STEM field.
- Participation in academic organizations, particularly a math club/team.
- Demonstration of motivation in achieving personal/academic goals.
- High GPA, particularly high grades in mathematics courses.
- Enrollment in rigorous courses, particularly mathematics courses.
This is the second year of this outstanding award. Michael Alfano ’24 was awarded for the 2023-24 school year.
