Marist High School is proud to announce that seniors Alan Treto, Andrew Viz, and David Fanelli were named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in Evanston, Ill. Commended Students place among the top 50,000 students who enter the competition. Approximately, 1.5 million high school students enter the program each year.
During his time at Marist, David Fanelli (St. Alexander) has been involved in the famous Marist band, Math Team, Academic Team, and Jazz Band.
Over the last four years, Alan Treto (St. Linus) has been involved in many clubs and activities. He is the Green Team Club founder and president, the Students Against Destructive Decisions President, Spanish National Honor Society President, Latinos United Treasurer, and Women’s Empowerment Initiative VP of Outreach. Alan is also a member of the Math Team and National Honor Society.
During his time at Marist, Andrew Viz (SS Cyril & Methodius School) has been a member of the Math Team, Academic Team, and Jazz Band. He is the cofounder of the Marist Aerospace and Rocketry Club. He is the drummer in Vertigo, a band he created with his friends. They played at Red & White Night and hope to play at future school events.
