On March 29, 2023 Marist hosted the first ever Celebration of Culture Night. Our students, faculty and staff represented their different cultures with displays, food, music, dancing and presentations.
The first ever Celebration of Culture Night was an amazing opportunity for us to learn a little bit more about each other! There were displays representing different countries such as the Philippines, Nigeria, Ireland, Poland, Lithuania, Italy, Mexico, Latin America and Greece. These table displays were created by staff and students and included food tastings, information on the cultures, and life in these countries.
There were also some great student and staff performers. Two Marist seniors were the emcess of the night, Gloria Carr ’23 and Maia Trevino ’23. Choir teacher, Lulu Sandoval, and her Mariachi band performed traditional Mariachi music. Caleb Bunton ’23 gave an amazing vocal performance of a song by Donny Hathaway. There were also various traditional dances performed by Marist students. Below is a full list of student performers:
