Marist High School is excited to join the National Catholic Schools Week celebration, an annual week of events that starts the last Sunday in January and runs for seven days, which in 2022 is January 30 – February 5. Starting with Mass on Monday, January 31, Marist will then provide a week of activities to show what our students are accomplishing and to celebrate the community focused on ensuring our students develop as people by bringing together faith, culture, and life.
Catholic Schools Week at Marist
The theme of Marist’s celebration coincides with the national theme, which is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service,” and encompasses the core products and values that can be found at Marist and in Catholic schools across the country. Not only is Marist teaching students to become future servant leaders, faith-filled disciples, and enriched citizens in our communities, but also the faculty, staff, coaches and administrators are growing with them as well. At Marist, every individual is a learner, servant, and leader. These shared qualities are what make Marist succeed.
The theme also focuses on key elements of Catholic education: faith development, academic and co-curricular activity excellence, and dedication to service. These elements set Marist apart from other educational options. They are why families make sacrifices to provide their children with a Catholic education.
Why So Many Choose Catholic Education
Marist believes that parents are their child’s primary educators. As such, parents have many options in selecting an educational institution for their child. Many schools offer classes in English, math, science, and history. Catholics schools not only provide superior curriculum in these areas, but they do so by integrating faith into every subject. That is the Catholic school difference.
Our goal through the Marist Brothers’ tradition is to provide each student with on-going formation in their faith, to develop their God-given gifts, and to prepare them for success in higher education and the global marketplace. We do this through a challenging curriculum, the support of our parents, and in a nurturing environment.
Furthermore, the National Catholic Educational Association, which oversees National Catholic Schools Week provides Catholic School Snaps, which display a series of data that are helpful to parents, the community, and policy leaders about the importance of Catholic schools.
Celebrating The Amazing Marist High School Staff
Marist is grateful every day for the teachers, staff, board members, parents and volunteers who make our school a success. National Catholic Schools Week is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the incredible work everyone who makes Marist the fantastic school that it is. Activities that take place during National Catholic Schools Week will be shared on social media and right here on this blog, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.
