Our Root Beliefs
The Five Root Beliefs of Marist High School
Marist High School is a faith-based institution that is deeply rooted in a set of core beliefs. These beliefs, in addition to our Marist Pillars, not only form the foundation of our educational philosophy, but also guide all our actions and decisions. They are the compass that directs our journey, shaping our school culture and community.
We Believe . . .
We embrace the Marist pillars of simplicity, presence, love of work, in the way of Mary and family spirit.
In the spirit of Marcellin Champagnat we are called to make a positive impact in the world.
God first.
Others second.
I am Third.
As brothers and sisters for life, we are concerned for the well being of all.
We ambitiously aim to create a community of belonging in which everyone feels known, valued and accepted. Realizing our differences, we actively look to find the best in others, even in difficult situations.
Our words matter. Our actions matter.
As a family, we support one another, listen to understand and build each other up. We lead with compassion, empathy and respect. As Christ loves, we strive to love.
All students learn differently.
Like our founder, Marcellin Champagnat, every person is uniquely capable.
We boldly push the boundaries of traditional school pursuing real-world, engaging learning experiences.
We are never satisfied with the status quo. We chase excellence.
We unleash learning by embracing the struggle as part of the process relentlessly pursuing opportunities to grow and improve, pursuing our purpose to become the best versions of ourselves.
