Champagnat Day 2025
Join us as we celebrate our 8th annual Champagnat Day on Thursday, May 1st. The 24-hour giving event commemorates the canonization of St. Marcellin Champagnat, the founder of the Marist Brothers, and celebrates those who live out the Marist mission — our students, faculty/staff, parents, alumni, and friends. A proud tradition and staple within our Marist community is the value of service and the importance of giving back. Marist has been blessed with the support and sacrifices from our own families and from the many members of the Marist community, to which we are forever grateful.
We humbly request you consider participating in Marist’s Day of Giving, “Champagnat Day,” which is Thursday, May 1st, 2025. The funds raised on Champagnat Day have provided opportunities for all Marist students in every area of the school. When you support Champagnat Day, you are giving to the Marist Fund, which supports Financial Aid, Academics, Athletics, Visual & Performing Arts, Mission & Service, & Student Activities. As we continue to uphold this tradition of giving back, we are relying on you, our community, to help us carry this tradition forward for future generations.
We are extremely grateful for any support you can provide (donations, no matter the quantity, make a difference). Stay tuned for more info regarding celebrations throughout the week of Champagnat Day!
FAQs
What is Champagnat Day?
Champagnat Day is Marist High School’s 24-hour giving event that commemorates the canonization of St. Marcellin Champagnat, the founder of the Marist Brothers, and celebrates those who live out the Marist mission — our students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and friends. This year, we will celebrate our 8th Annual Champagnat Day on May 1st.
What does the Marist Fund support?
Each year, a significant portion of the money that supports the vibrant programming at Marist is raised through generous donations. Every dollar raised through the Marist Fund ends up touching some aspect of the school, like upgrading facilities; closing the gap on tuition costs; continuously enriching our incredible academics; offering equipment and uniform upgrades for athletics; ensuring meaningful mission trips and service projects take place; creating space for artists to flourish; and supporting the development of skills and talents through clubs & activities.
Most important, the funds raised on Champagnat Day and throughout the year mean that students, faculty, staff, coaches, club moderators and more experience an unparalleled educational experience without interruptions to programming.
Why is Champagnat Day important to Marist?
Champagnat Day is Marist Chicago’s Day of Giving, a fundraising campaign where we ask our alumni, donors, faculty, staff, parents, students, and friends to support the Marist Fund. Our goal this year is to raise $325,000 with 1300 donors so that we may continue to give students the advantage of an exceptional, Catholic education. Many small amounts combined together can make an enormous impact. We are grateful to be supported year-after-year by the Marist community giving what they can.
