Marist High School announced that Brian Burns will be returning as the head girls’ tennis coach.
Welcome Back, Brian!
Brian Burns once again joins the Marist coaching community as he returns as the head varsity girls’ tennis coach. He was previously the varsity girls’ tennis coach at Marist from 2013 to 2016! Burns is a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certified teaching professional and has 30 years of tennis teaching experience, including being the head teaching pro at the Oak Lawn Racquet Club for high school teen drills.
“I really enjoy seeing the players improve very quickly and to see them compete at a high tennis level,” said Burns. “The players at Marist are willing to do what it takes and to see them do well and achieve tennis success is what it is all about for me as their tennis coach.”
Burns also coached on the Marist varsity boys tennis team in the Spring of 2023. Prior to Marist, he was the varsity girls tennis coach at Mother McAuley High School from 2010 to 2012. He has also served as a private professional coach to many high school state qualifiers and college tennis players.
“The girls (and boys) at Marist High School are the best students that I have had the privilege of coaching. They are all dedicated and work very hard. I feel that I am a good fit for the tennis program here at Marist,” said Burns.
We are incredibly excited to have Brian back at Marist. We look forward to an amazing 2023 season!
